Germany Student Visa | Process and Requirements

If you want to prove your proficiency in German language, then the accepted forms are:
- German Language Diploma of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs, Level II (DSD)
- Goethe Institute German Language Diploma (GDS)
- Test of German as a Foreign Language (TestDaF)
While, if you want to prove the proficiency in English language, the followings are the accepted forms:
- IELTS (The International English Language Testing System) Test Results – this is another accepted form of proving the English Language proficiency, where the required points by German universities are 5 – 6.5 Score.
- TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Test Results – The accepted results are: paper-based test (PbT) 550 Points, computer-based test (CbT) 213 Points and internet-based test (IbT) 79-80 Points.
- Other forms – if you want to prove your English language proficiency in other forms, the accepted level according to the European Language Passportmust be B1/B2 –intermediate.

|9.||No-objection certificate of school or university (if student) (blocked account) in Germany in the name of the applicant showing a minimum balance of 8640,- Euros and the remark that the account holder can dispose of a monthly amount of 720,- Euros – Confirmation of an annually renewable bank guarantee from a bank in Germany in the amount of 8640,- Euros – PLEASE NOTE: You cannot withdraw more than 720 Euros per month from a blocked account. However, especially at the beginning of your stay, you might be required to spend more than 720 Euros in a month (e.g. to pay a deposit when renting a room or an apartment). It is therefore highly recommended to make sure that you have access to sufficient financial means according to your individual situation.
Proof of financial status:
If employed: Pay slips of the past three months / employment contract
If self-employed: Certificate of Proprietorship or other proof of ownership (proof of land title, proof of income from agriculture (sales form) etc.)

Step by Step process to Study in Germany
Choose your college or university in Germany.
Start with the enrollment process
For enrollment at the university or college, you will require certified copies of your academic mark sheets and certificates.
Open your blocked account
You are required to provide the proof of sufficient funds to cover your living expenses in Germany, as part of your Germany student visa application. To fulfill this requirement you can open a blocked account at a branch of Kotak Mahindra Bank in India. The account can be opened in any Branch of Kotak Mahindra in India. Visit any branch and fill your application for the opening of a blocked account for student visa for Germany. The proof of the opening of such account is required at the time of visa applying process. After your arrival in Germany, you can request Kotak Mahindra Bank to transfer your full deposited amount into a blocked account of any local bank in Germany. An e-mail confirmation is needed with the activation of blocked account. After the successful submission transfer a minimum amount of 8820.00 Euro at your visa interview. Also, you may open a blocked account at a bank in Germany. Currently there are two banks in Germany, that offer this service to students prior to their arrival in Germany. The names of these banks are Deutsche Bank and Fintiba/Sutor Bank.

Demand Drafts with incorrect amounts will not be accepted. Please note that the fee is not refundable, even when the visa is rejected.

Stay back options in Germany:
Any student who so ever has completed his course from German University or College gets a stay back option of 18 months which is given as job search visa.
Please prepare two identical application sets with the above-mentioned documents and bring your original certificates along.
