Languages are not just means of communication, they are our visualisations of our thoughts, and dreams. All the great poetries ever written, all the great stories ever told, the emotions in languages managed to pass it from speakers to listeners. Since the dawn of Human civilisation, many languages have managed to convey thoughts and perspectives and German is also part of the family.


German too like any other European contemporaries, has seen changes through the course of history. Germanic tribes who populated modern Germany and parts of Austria have lived in this region since the time of the Roman Empire. The regular interactions with the Roman Empire and its people, be it trade or war, brought new words to German vocabulary. Over the time of two millennia, the language has seen many changes as new Kingdoms emerged and new people from other regions added their own speaking methods.


The modern trend is no different. With the era of social media and the internet, the German language is more tolerant now to English as many international English words have become part of German culture, not just in work field, but also in life of Germans. And with migrants from different countries now live in Germany, the use of English is more common. 


Therefore, in the coming years it will not be a surprise if German vocabulary inherits more English words than it has ever done. This positive addition will certainly help the foreigners to blend in with German culture smoothly, which can be rigid sometimes due to the language barrier. As society accepts changes in its language in relation to time, it will also help the language to thrive and add new speakers to it. In the coming years, perhaps the next 10 years, the language will certainly add more words and thus making it more adaptable.
