As an avid news follower, I've always been interested in staying updated on global events. While I mainly focus on news from my country, certain announcements demand attention. I vividly recall stumbling upon news of a virus while scrolling through my mobile feed.

COVID-19, a virus originating in Wuhan, China, was unlike anything the world had seen in my lifetime. The year 2019 brought forth this unprecedented disease. International flights stopped, and countries like South Korea swiftly recognized the gravity of the situation as the virus spread rapidly across borders. However, some nations, like Italy, initially underestimated its impact. The World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic in March 2020, underscoring its global reach. India swiftly responded by halting international flights, imposing a nationwide lockdown, and suspending all operations. The COVID-19 outbreak was a seismic event that sent shockwaves worldwide.

The impact of COVID-19 has reverberated globally, affecting every country and its populace either directly or indirectly. I, too, faced challenges due to the pandemic. College closures led to a shift to online classes, with exams postponed. Many summer internships were canceled due to organizations lacking remote work projects, and months of lockdown confined us to our homes, with news of mounting casualties becoming distressingly common. The elderly, who were particularly vulnerable, became a constant source of worry for our families. This international crisis has had far-reaching consequences, profoundly affecting countless lives.

History has always fascinated me. The honest and objective studies of history teach us to understand how our world was in the past, how it is now, and how our world will look in the future.  I love hearing stories from the past. Every night, before going to bed, my grandparents tell me stories. My grandfather communicates well; now no one can speak clearly like him. I love listening to stories about animals, kings, battles, and the American Revolution. India's history shows that India is a diverse country. I will talk about the pre-independence period when my grandfather told me stories about India's journey to freedom.

 This story is about the freedom fighters who fought tirelessly, day and night, to regain India's freedom. He also spoke about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the central figure in bringing the entire Indian nation together, whose efforts were necessary to achieve independence.

 I probably always like to learn about history and the important individuals who helped free our country. One of them was Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. His selflessness and loyalty to his country were undeniable. India was divided into 562 states, each ruled by an indigenous ruler. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel united everyone and created India. His grandfather's stories horrified me and I became completely absorbed in his words. My grandfather told me we can understand them through books or hearing from those who walked similar paths.

This narrative was a crucial piece of India's independence story, and its telling left a lasting mark. Everyone should know about their country's history. I remember it vividly ever since I learned this in school. I had positive feelings about the morals and beliefs of our legends. They were never corrupt and never acted on greed. Instead, they gave everything to their country. Your efforts inspire me and motivate me to do something for my country. That's why I've always been fascinated by the pre-independence period.

Growing up in a culture that deeply values respect for elders, I've always held senior citizens in high regard. My grandmother holds a special place in my heart, and my bond with her runs deep. From my earliest memories, she's been there for me, nurturing and caring for me like no other. A retired teacher now in her late 70s, she continues to be a beacon of kindness and compassion.

 

Her generosity knows no bounds. I'll never forget how she used to tutor the children of our household staff, never asking for anything in return. Her selflessness extends beyond our family, as she readily lends a helping hand to anyone in need. I recall a time when she rushed to aid an accident victim without a moment's hesitation, showcasing her innate goodness.

 

But I admire not just her acts of kindness; it's her unwavering love and care for everyone around her. She showers her grandchildren affectionately and constantly encourages us to believe in ourselves. Despite her age, she stays connected with me through calls and video chats, always eager to hear about my life.

 

Even in retirement, she remains active, teaching at an NGO to stay connected with her passion for education. I can only hope and pray that she has many more years of health and happiness.

This book is a fantasy novel. It's about a young boy named Harry Potter who discovers on his eleventh birthday that he is a wizard. He receives an invitation to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. At Hogwarts, Harry makes new friends, learns magic, and uncovers the truth about his parents' mysterious deaths.
