National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 for students

Following the pandemic National Education Policy 2020 came with a multidisciplinary shift and refining the education India education system for 21st century students. NEP 2020 puts out a number of intriguing ideas. The vision of NEP 2020 is to make sure that every student

● Holistic development of students in both academic and non academic spheres. 

● The significance of early childhood education and fundamental learning is also covered in the national education policy 2020. Children will benefit from this because, by the age of eight, around 80% of brain growth is completed. 

● As part of the program, NCERT pedagogical framework training will be provided to current Anganwadi teachers and staff. Hence ensuring early childhood education. 

● The main goal of senior schooling modes would be to foster a flexible and critical thinking environment. In addition, during these latter years, pupils would pay close attention to developing a proper profile for Indian college applications.

● To remove detrimental hierarchies and barriers between various areas of study, there shouldn't be any strict divisions made between the arts and sciences, between extracurricular and curricular activities, between academic and vocational streams, etc. 

● Establishing Mission on foundational literacy and numeracy. The goal of the FLN Mission 2023 is that by the completion of their primary education, every child should be able to read, write, and do fundamental mathematics, as well as have the necessary abilities to excel in their future studies and careers. 

● Inculcation of mother tongue or local language through the medium of instruction upto 5th standard students and promoting multilingual education in schools. 

● Eliminating children focus from rote learning to concept learning. 

● Extra attention on students' interest and abilities and giving them choices to choose their own choice of their learning trajectories and programmes. 

● Instead of emphasizing summative evaluations, which support the current "coaching culture," prioritize frequent formative assessments for learning. 

● Perform Assessment Review and Analysis- PARAKH , a new national assessment centre set up for comprehensive growth in terms of knowledge. 

● Fair and inclusive education and special emphasis given on socially and economically disadvantaged groups. 

● The National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE) encourages teachers and educational organizations to be more imaginative and involved. Provide age- and context-appropriate teaching methods, like inquiry, play, and activity based learning. Encourage the logical thinking, independence, health, and well-being of your kids.Gain the capacity to actively engage in public processes.

● The New Education Technology Forum (NETF) aims to improve digital teaching methods by offering innovative and creative ideas. Additionally, there will be a technological integration that could improve a number of instructional processes. 

 

The enforcement of NEP 2020 starts with the enhanced training for teachers providing them opportunities to develop professionally and leverage to use technology or digital tools to use in their medium of instruction. 

With the so many advantages of NEP 2020 like flexible learning opportunities, making schooling more accessible, digital education , exposure to ancient culture and fostering life skills like creativity, critical thinking in students there are certain drawbacks with the implementation of NEP 2020 are as follows: it may widen the gap between the english and non english speaking children and Indian society , technical barrier for rural area students and most important without a clear strategy in place, the policy's anticipated benefits might not actualize.
